Baguio Day 2: DPS Area, Panagbenga Park, Mga Taxi sa Baguio
Since this post only has two pictures, I'd like to talk about the taxi cabs/drivers of Baguio.
The first thing that caught my attention was the size of the cabs in Baguio, sila kasi 'yung FX dito sa'tin eh. The reason behind the bigger cabs was that it would be hard for the regular taxis we have here in Metro Manila to go uphill. Another thing that's different was the cheaper flag-down rate of P 30.00 and the rate of P 2.50 for added meters. They also give back the change kahit pa isang piso o dalawang piso na lang 'yan. But the best "trait" the taxi drivers there have was their kindness to passengers, in exchange pati kaming passengers e nagiging kind na rin sakanila. Some of our drivers even shared their life stories to us and served as our tour guide 'cause they were telling us things about the places we were passing through. Saka kahit malayo 'yung pupuntahan, walang reklamo. Kahit nga naging traffic na nung last day namin kasi sobrang daming namamasyal, wala pa rin reklamo. It's good to know that meron pa palang mga ganung klase ng drivers dito sa Philippines. Kung meron kang kilala o kung ikaw e taxi driver na hindi ma-reklamo at hindi mapagsamantala ng pasahero (kahit hindi ka taga-Baguio), salamat. :)

| Outside DPS Area, was Panagbenga Park. It's only a small park but since you're not required to pay any entrance fees, why not enter, right? Baguio celebrates Panagbenga/Flower Festival every February but I have never had the chance to attend one yet. Okay na 'to sa Panagbenga Park. hehe. You'll find different kinds of plants and flowers, they also have a butterfly sanctuary which we weren't able to enter. |
